Guertty E. Parra

Guertty Parra a los 89 años, en Lawrence, Massachusets,  apartido al lugar que todos sabemos que existe, pero nadie sabe dónde está, lo único que sabemos es que nos a dejado y ahora está descansando en paz y alegría.  Guertty nació en la Vega Cundinamarca, Colombia, el 6 de febrero de 1929.  Ella creció en una familia de 11 hermanos donde fue una de las menores de la familia, Guertty se casó con Jaime a los 27 años donde llevaron un matrimonio ejemplar por 63 años, hasta la noche anterior a su partida, donde  ella  y Jaime pudieron expresar su amor, que construyeron por 6 décadas, del cual,  quedaron tres hijos; Oswaldo, Alberto y Fiorely, 5 nietos; Andres, Jonathan, Stephanie, Andrew y  Karina y una bisnieta, Luna Mariela.  Desde su infancia fue muy activa, inquieta por el hacer y por el descubrir, siempre fue emprendedora de algún proyecto que se le ocurría, tenia una capacidad de tomar decisiones aceptadas que le permitía llevar el proyecto a su feliz término, por asares de la vida, migro a los Estados Unidos en Julio del 1990, lugar que  desde su juventud añoraba conocer y donde permaneció  hasta su partida el 14 de Noviembre 2018.

 Se distinguía por: su carisma y alegría, altamente propositiva, actitud que no le permitía  darse por vencida,  por su  amor con el prójimo y especialmente por los niños, por su sonrisa cautivadora, por su capacidad de compartir, siempre ella decía; “hacer el bien sin mirar a quien”, dentro de sus valores se resaltaba, su profunda honestidad, enseñaba que la verdad no se peleaba con nadie, el amor y el respecto  por los demás y la igualdad de los derechos, por la humildad y gratitud, también   ella decía que debíamos aprender “lo mejor de las personas”, realmente  no hay suficientes palabras para describir su vida,  por lo que su legado siempre perdurara  en todos los que estuvimos a su alrededor.

Guertty Parra passed away at 89 years old in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She departed to a place that we all know exists, yet no one really knows where it is, the only thing we do know is that she has left us and is now resting in peace and happiness. Guertty was born in La Vega Cundinamarca, Colombia, on the 6th of February of 1929. She was raised in a family of 11 brothers and sisters where she was the youngest of them all. Guertty was married to Jaime at the age of 27 and were together for 63 exemplary years. Guertty and Jaime were able to express the love they shared for each other that has developed over the past 6 decades, up until the last night before her passing. Leaving behind 3 kids: Oswaldo, Alberto, and Fiorely, 5 grandkids: Andres, Jonathan, Stephanie, Andrew, and Karina, and 1 great grand child: Luna Mariela. Since she was a child she was always very active, determined to get things done and trying to discover new things. She was always able to start up any project that came to mind making the best decisions to bring them to a happy completion. Due to life circumstances she migrated to the United States of America in June of 1990, which was a dream that she had ever since she was young. Starting with the idea of going to travel around it, to inevitably moving there until her passing on November 14th of 2018. 

She was defined by her carisma and happiness, her constant positivity, her determination to never give up, her love for people and especially children, her captivating smile and for her desire to share. She always said “hacer el bien sin mirar a quien” which means do all the good without judgement or second thought. Her biggest values in life were shown in her honesty, and made it evident that with honesty there was no penalty. She had immense love for everyone and believed in equal rights. She was humble and grateful for everything. She always said we should always focus on the good in people. There is not enough words in the dictionary to describe her life, but her legacy will live on within those who surrounded her.
