Isaias Freitas Marcela

Isaias Freitas Marcela, 73, of Methuen, passed away unexpectedly at Holy Family Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born on October 15, 1945 in Lages, Flores, Azores, Portugal to Joao Freitas Marcela and his wife Margarida Raimundo Marcela. Isaias served in the Portuguese Army from 1966 to 1969, during that time he met his sole mate and wife to be, Carmen.  Together they came to Lawrence in 1978 to begin a new life.  Isaias was a loving, talented, funny and hard working family man. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, farming, raising rabbits and chickens, but most importantly being "the family man".
Isaias leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Carmen Marcela of Methuen. His only son Michael Marcela and his companion Dawna Guilmette of Methuen. In addition, Isaias is survived by his two sisters, Maria Silva of Lawrence and Maria Teresa Melo of Methuen. Two brothers, Jose Antonio Freitas of CA and Joao Freitas of Methuen, as well as several grandchildren: Kaia, Bayley, Damion, Makayla, Angelina and Hannah. He also leaves his baby girl cat, named "Shasha". Isaias will be joining his parents and his two brothers Jose and Antonio who predeceased him. A funeral mass will be offered Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St; Lawrence.
