Joaquin O. Sanchez

Joaquin O. Sanchez, 66, of North Andover, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Lawrence General Hospital with his family at his bedside. Joaquin was born and educated in Santo Domingo, Dominican Repubblic, the son of the late Joaquin O. Sanchez Pujol and his mother Ana Rosario Valerio who survives him. He graduated from thhe Universidad de Santo Domingo and was a Certifed Public Accountant who also was an architectural engineer. He moved to Lawrence in 1998. Joaquin was a great cook and the center for family gatherings. Joaquin was noted for holding block parties and reveled in feeding the neighborhood kids. Joaquin excepted the Lord and was baptized in the Christian faith 20 years ago and less than two later he fell ill and was bedridden for the remainder of his life. 

He is his survived by his wife of 35 years, Belkis (Mendez) Sanchez of North Andover. His children, Evelyn Sanchez of Lawrence; George Sanchez of his wife, Sugeily DeCoo and their children, George N. Sanchez and Nicole Sanchez of North Andover; and Joaquin O. Sanchez, Jr. of Methuen. In addition, Joaquin is survived by daughters, Fianette Sanchez; Pamela Sanchez and a son Joaquin Sanchez all of Ohio. His beloved mother, Ana Velario of Santo Domingo. One sister, Alba Maritza Sanchez and her husband Rilder Mejia of Santo Domingo.

A funeral service will be held Monday,  November 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
