Jose Raul Nieves Figueroa

Jose Raul Nieves, 52 died November 27th, 2018. As a result of his battle with cancer. He was born February 5th, 1966 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The son of Monserrate Figueroa and Damian Nieves. He worked for 11 years at the Lawrence General Hospital in the housekeeping department. He was friendly and enjoy spending time with family.

He enjoyed meeting people dancing salsa music, playing timbales and the tambora. He also enjoyed traveling and gatherings with family and friends.  Jose is survived by his mom, Monserrate Figueroa, His son Jose Javier Nieves, his girlfriend Sandra Koomson. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Chamorro, Marie Rivera, Patricia Gonzalez and his brother Jose (pou) Damian Nieves and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are being held by Farrah Funeral Home in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The wake will be held on Thursday, November 29th at 4:00pm at the funeral home. and on Friday at 10:00am follow by the burial at St. Mary’s cemetery.

José Raúl Nieves, de 52 años, murió el 27 de noviembre de 2018. Como resultado de su batalla contra el cáncer. Nació el 5 de febrero de 1966 en Ponce, Puerto Rico. El hijo de Monserrate Figueroa y Damián Nieves. Trabajó durante 11 años en el Hospital General de Lawrence en el departamento de limpieza. Era amable y le gustaba pasar tiempo con la familia. Disfrutaba conocer gente bailando música salsa, tocando timbales y la tambora. También le gustaba viajar y reuniones con familiares y amigos. A José le sobreviven su madre, Monserrate Figueroa, su hijo José Javier Nieves, su novia Sandra Koomson. También le sobreviven sus hermanas, Wanda Chamorro, Marie Rivera, Patricia González y su hermano José (pou) Damian Nieves y varias tías, tíos, sobrinas y sobrinos. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de Farrah Funeral Home en Lawrence, Massachusetts. La vigilia se llevará a cabo el jueves 29 de noviembre a las 4:00 pm en la funeraria. y el viernes a las 10:00 am, siga el entierro en el cementerio de St. Mary.
