Nelson was a happy guy always in a good mood. He Loved listening to all kinds of music, from Spanish romantic songs by Pimpinela to Old school Salsa and of course Freestyle. All very loud with lots of base. Nelson’s Genuine down to earth personality loved without condition. Talked without bad intention... Gave without any reason and most of all cared for people without any expectation.
Nelson’s last 3 years were his best years. From Graduating 1st in the Culinary program at Community Servings in Jamaica Plan to working at Women’s Lunch Place on Newbury St. in Boston. He was a true inspiration not only to his family but also to his work family. Nelson took the opportunity to change his life around and make a difference by doing what he loved to do which was cooking, serving and mentoring. With his passion, humility and perseverance he touched many lives. He was a true example of “Actions speak louder than words”.
Nelson is the true meaning of never quitting, never giving up, there was no task that he did not undertake. Nelson set the example of how someone can overcome an addiction and make a legacy for himself and for this will forever love you/honor you and continue your legacy of serving.
“Nelson, we know now that we have gained a very strong Angel protecting us as we continue to fight the good fight on this earth. We will forever love you and carry on your legacy ..You were and forever be a true inspiration in our lives.
Nelson…Relax peacefully. We got you!”
“That a man can change himself … and master his own destiny is the conclusion of every wide-awake to the power of the right thought.”
