Rafael A. "Fello" Olivo, 89, of Lawrence passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital with his family at his bedside. Fello was born and educated in La Isabela, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, the son of the late Juan Sepulveda and his wife Antonia Olivo. Fello worked for Dominican government in agriculture where he operated a farm tractor for cooperative farm entities. He moved to Lawrence in 2005 with his wife Cristina Olivo to join their children. Here, the family became parishioners of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. Fello loved to play dominos and he was a big fan of the Red Sox. He also enjoyed listening to the accordion and walking all across the city, where he was a familiar and happy face to many.
Fello was a loving husband of 52 years to Cristina (Liriano) Olivo of Lawrence. He was the loving and dedicated father to oldest Daughter, Deidamia Olivo and her daughters Patricia and Kenly and their children, (Fello's great grandchildren) Katie, Kimberly, Wilson and Rodrigo all of Methuen. Son, Wilson Olivo and his wife Ana M. (Gonzalez) Olivo and their children: Gabriela, Iliana, Armando and Emilio all of Lawrence. Son, Alesandro Olivo and his children, Christine, Helen, Genesis, Alejandro and Camila of Tampa, FL. Daughter, Nayda and her husband, Ericson Jaquez and their children, Eric Armando, Maria Jose, and Cristine of Santiago, Dominican Republic. Lillian and her husband, Ruben Hernandez and their children, Ruben, Jr; and Lizbeth all of Bronx, NY. Leandro A. Olivo and his daughter, Alexandra of Methuen. Daughter, Milagros Uribe and her husband Rafael Gonzalez and their children, Adrian and Tara of Santo Domingo, Dominican republic. Daughter, Rosa Uribe and her son Jose Armando of Santiago, Dominican Republic. In addition, Fello is survived by siblings, Indiana, Francia, Rafaela, Nieve Louisa and Juana Rodriguez. Fello was predeceased by his brother, Juan Olivo and a nephew Luis Eduardo.
A funeral mass will be offered, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Hampshire and Haverhill Sts. in Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
