Zobeida Tejada Vargas

Zobeida Tejada Vargas, 78, of Lawrence, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her family was at  her bedside. Zobeida was born and educated in San Francisco de Marcoris, Dominican Republic the Bubulo Tejada and Emilia Vargas. At homemaker she raised 8 children while living there. Zobeida came to join her family to live Lawrence in January 16, 1986. She retired from New Balance after 8 years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence.  Zobeida loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed Dominos and has beaten many a grandchild. She was active and like to dance.  

She is survived her children, Manuel Sanchez of Lawrence; Luis Alfonso Sanchez and his wife Milta Sanchez of Lawrence; Maria Sanchez and her Husband Carlos Melendez of Lawrence; Dominga Sanchez and her husband Julio Cepeda of Lawrence; Manuel Sanchez and his wife Blanca Paulino of Lawrence; Jose Sanchez of Lawrence; Luis Alfredo Sanchez and his wife Esther Rodrigues Sanchez of Manchester, NH; Omayra Thistlewood, wife of Peter Thistlewood of Merrimack, MA and Robert Sanchez and his wife Alva Gonzalez of Lawrence. 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition, Zobeida is survived by brothers: Nidio Tejada of New York City, Hector Morel of San Francisco de Marcoris, RD and Ricardo Garcia Morel of San Francisco de Marcoris, RD. Sisters: Solida Vargas of Miami, FL and Ada Vargas of San Francisco de Marcoris, RD. She was predeceased by a brother Abraham Tejada, late of San Francisco, RD.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Lawrence. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME.
