Aida Silvestre Mota, age 51, departed with the Lord on Saturday February 27, 2021 after fighting a valiant battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She passed at her home in Lawrence, MA, accompanied by her family. All throughout this painful process, Aida’s faith never wavered. She lived every day doing her best and leaving the rest in God’s hands, inspiring everyone around her, from loved ones, to the various medical professionals who had the honor of treating her. Aida is survived by her two daughters, Ambar and Coral, who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her siblings Ruddy, Victor Antonio, Hector David, Rosa Maria, and Maria Delfina, all of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic.
Aida was born and educated in San Pedro de Macoris where she accepted Christ into her life at 8 years of age. She persevered in her faith and served the Lord with pride. Later on, Aida and her then husband, Pedro Sabino, brought their family to the United States. Together they became members of Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. Ebenezer, where Aida congregated until her passing, at times as a member and at others in positions of leadership.
Throughout her life in Lawrence, she earned the respect and appreciation of the community, for her warmth of character and her dedication to community service. This shined through in her tenure as Secretary at Casa Dominicana in Lawrence, MA. Her work ethic and attention to detail made her an invaluable resource while providing her services as an Accountant at the Dominican Consulate in Boston and as a longtime accounting staff member and Supervisor at Resources Administration, Inc. of Lawrence.
Aida, by all accounts, was a radiant woman full of life and light. A model of excellence, she was a dedicated professional and worked hard for the sake of her family without losing her joy and sense of fun. She loved to travel and experience new sights with her daughters and friends, and even made sure to catch professional baseball games in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York where she was a fan of the Yankees. She was kind and always more than willing to lend a hand where she could.
Aida is resting in the arms of the Lord, and we know that though she may have appeared to lose an earthly battle, she is victorious as are all God’s children in Heaven.
Aida is dearly loved and will be missed by her family, friends, work colleagues, church and community members. She will always be remembered as a woman full of faith, light, positivity, joy, warmth, love, strength, and with a never-ending willingness to help others.
