Blasina Lopez

Blasina Lopez, 87, of Lawrence, died Friday, June 30, 2023, at Lawrence General Hospital with her family at her bedside. Blasina was born and educated in Tenares, Dominican Republic the daughter of Osvaldo Taveras and Cleofina Oliveres. She married Juan Lopez in 1956 and together they raised 5 children. The family moved to the United Staes in early 1960's settling in NYC. Later they to Lawrence in 1973. A homemaker, Blasina enjoyed cooking for her family and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a frequent traveler to her native Dominican Republic.

The widow of Juan Lopez and is survived her children, Eddy Lopez of Ocala, FL. Juan Lopez and his wife, Mercedes (Garcia) Lopez of Lawrence. Rudi and his wife Maureen Lopez and their children, Jose Lopez, Mauddy Lopez and Rudmar Lopez. Daughter, Josefina Rodriguez and her son, Juan M. Rodriguez of Lawrence. Son, Jose Lopez of Lawrence. 

In addition, Blasina is survived by several brothers and sisters living in the Dominica Republic.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Rudi Lopez.

Friends may call, Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME. Blasina will be interred beside her husband at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
