On Sunday May 10, 2020, Domingo Ortega, devoted husband, loving
father of 4 and exceptional grandfather of 6, passed away at the age of 68
in Lawrence, MA.
Domingo was born in Tenares, Dominican Republic, the son of the late
Victor Ortega and his wife Obdulia Ortega. He came to Lawrence in the
late 1970’s and worked for Shaheen Bros., Inc., and was also a bus driver
for the McKinney and Young Dimension School Transportation before
retiring.
Domingo was a parishioner of St Mary of the Assumption Paris in
Lawrence. He loved preparing meals for his extended family and enjoyed
all music, sports, spending time with his family and loved watching the
Discovery Channel, History Channel and Nova.
He is survived by his wife Candida Ortega and his children Wilson
Ortega, Noel Ortega, Benjamin Ortega, Wendy Ortega and six
grandchildren. He is also survived by his fifteen brothers and sisters all of
Lawrence. Felicia Ortega, Gumercindo Ortega, Obispo Ortega, Bartola
Ortega, Ana V Ortega, Arismende Ortega, Ricardo Ortega, Eduvigis
Ortega, Ovispio Ortega, Carmen Ortega, Maribel Ortega, Juan Ortega,
Ana Ortega, Danilo Ortega, Marcelina Ortega, Julian Ortega.
Due to the current COVID19 pandemic, there will be no wake open to the
public. There will be a private burial service at St Mary Cemetery in
Lawrence attended by immediate family only, where Ortega will be
interred beside his father. A public memorial mass will be held at a later
date and announced beforehand.
