Donald Jospeh Martineau

Donald Joseph Martineau, 80 of Tewksbury passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 after battling a long illness.

Donald leaves his wife of 56 years, Donna (Macoul) Martineau, his daughter, Lisa (Martineau) Fitzgibbons, M.D. of North Andover, MA and his son-in-law James Fitzgibbons. He was the proud "Papa" to William and Katherine Fitzgibbons.

Donald loved his country and proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was a graduate of Merrimack College, where he met his beloved wife, Donna. He went on to receive his graduate degree in American Political and Economic History from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After graduation, he taught at Boston College and the University of Louisville before joining Merrill Lynch.

Donald's great loves, other than his family, were the University of Michigan Wolverines and fishing. He was happiest when he was fishing with his children, son-in-law and his grandchildren.

Donald is predeceased by his beloved son, John Donald Martineau, his parents, Alfred and Jeanne Martineau and his brother, Roger Martineau. In addition, Donald is survived by brothers-in-law: Dr. Kenneth L. Macoul and his wife Carol Macoul and Attorney John A. Macoul and Debbie Paone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
