Fr. Abdallah Ramy Obituary

Surrounded by his family, Fr. Abdallah Habib Ramy passed away on August 1, 2022 at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Methuen. Fr. Ramy was born in Terbol, Lebanon to the late Habib and Mounira Ramy. A few months after his birth, his mother Mounira passed away. Later, his father Habib remarried to Matild Cory, and together they raised ten children.
Father Ramy was born Nasr H. Ramy and took the name Abdallah when he was ordained as a Maronite Catholic Priest in 1961. Fr. Ramy served as a priest for 62 years in both Lebanon and the United States. His first assignment was to his home parish St. Takla Church in Terbol, Lebanon. He also spent time as Bishop Abdallah Njeim’s acting Auxiliary Bishop in Zahle, Lebanon.
Fr. Ramy and his late wife, Wadad, and their six children emigrated to the United States. He served multiple parishes accross New England, spending his time primarily at St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church in Lawrence, MA. He also served Maronite Catholic parishes in Dover, NH, Brockton, Fall River and Springfield, MA.
The widow of the late Khourieh Wada Ramy, he lives on through his six children and their spouses: Daoud and Adriana (Escobar) Ramy, of Salem, NH; Sleiman and Hala (Melhem) Ramy of Methuen, Mounir and Zeze (Moussa) Ramy of Houston, TX; Mounira and Nabil Daher of Salem, NH; Therese and Joseph Ramy of Dover, NH and Marie and Wahib Charabati of Salem, NH.
Fr. Ramy was blessed with fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In addition, Fr. Ramy is survived by his brother Moussa and his wife, Najat Ramy of Terbol, Lebanon.  Two sisters, Nazli Sarkis (wife of late Samir Sarkis), and Daad Cherabie of Lawrence, MA. His two sisters-in-law, Therese, wife of Akel Ramy of Terbol, Lebanon and Firyal, wife of Nassib Ramy of Methuen. 
Fr. Ramy was predeceased by his sister Marie and her husband Emile Ramey, brother, Nicholas and his wife, Vivian Ramy, sister, Hafiza and her husband Michael Youness, sister Laya and her husband Ibrahim Rami, and brothers Akel and Nassib Ramey.
Fr. Ramy will lie in state on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church,145 Amesbury St; Lawrence, MA.
A funeral mass will be concelebrated on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.by Bishop Gregory John Mansour, Bishop of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Saint Maron, Brooklyn, NY and Bishop Paul Marwan Tabet, Bishop of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Saint Maron of Montreal, Canada. Burial will follow at St Anthony Cemetery, North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
