Ignacio Cintron-Quinones, 76, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Lawrence General Hospital after suffering a fall at home. Ignacio was born and educated in Mayaguez PR the son of the late Ignacio Cintron and Amparo Quinones. Upon graduation from high school in Puerto Rico Ignacio enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam, where he was injured and spent one year in hospital. Ignacio was exposed to Agent Orange and its maladies remained with him his entire life.
Ignacio married Hilda "Angie" Del Moral in 1977 and together the raised 3 children Chris, Angie and Rick. He is survived by a sister, Clara Cintron of Bronx, NY. Ignacio was predeceased by siblings Jaime Cintron-Quinones, Osvaldo Cintron-Quinones, Elba Cintron-Quinones and Wilson Gonzalez.
Ignacio was recognized for his service in Vietnam and was awarded various medals including from the City of Lawrence.
He enjoyed race and domestic horse, dogs and playing pool. He member of Lawrence Playboy club where he enjoyed playing dominoes. Ignacio worked for Honeywell, Malden mills and retired from Shawsheen Rubber.
Ignacio was very loved and will be dearly missed.
Friends may call Monday, September 11, 2023, from 4:00 TO 8:00 pm at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:00 am.
Burial with full military honors will be at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
