Isidro Omaris Perez

Isidro Omaris Pérez passed away peacefully at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born in Neiba, Dominican Republic on March 10, 1936 to Ana Zulema Pérez-Sepúlveda and José Dolores Peña-Medina. Isidro served 10 years with the Dominican Marine Guards during the Trujillo regime, then immigrated to New York City in 1964. He worked for several years in the NY garment district, until 1968, when he moves his young family to Lawrence, MA for better job opportunities.  For many years he worked in various factories and assembly companies throughout the Merrimack Valley region. During the last 20 years he lived in retirement in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, until failing health required him to return to the USA. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Ramona (Peguero-Knecht), daughters Isa A. Pérez-Lucafo (and husband Joseph Lucafo) from Raymond, NH, Yolanda Irene Gorra from West Palm Beach, FL, son David E. Peguero (and wife Karen Casey-Peguero) from Delray Beach, FL, and granddaughter Natacha I. Soberon (and husband Elvoris Mercedes) from Lawrence, MA.  He is also survived by his brother Oscar T. Pérez (and his wife Manuela) from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and several half-siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss his smile, sense of humor, storytelling and humble (down-to-earth) nature. He enjoyed baseball, classic western movies, and spending time with family and friends. Isidro especially enjoyed Dominican food, music and dance.

Isidro Omaris Pérez falleció pacíficamente en la residencia de ancianos Wingate en Andover rodeado de su familia, el sábado, 19 de enero de 2019. Nació en Neiba, República Dominicana el 10 de marzo de 1936 a Ana Zulema Pérez-Sepúlveda y José Dolores Peña-Medina. Isidro sirvió 10 años con los guardias marinos dominicanos durante el régimen de Trujillo, luego emigró a la ciudad de Nueva York en 1964. Trabajó durante varios años en el distrito de prendas de vestir de Nueva York, hasta 1968, cuando se traslada con su joven familia a Lawrence, MA para mejores oportunidades de trabajo.  Durante muchos años trabajó en varias fábricas y empresas de ensamblaje a través de la región del Valle de Merrimack. Durante los últimos 20 años vivió en la jubilación en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, hasta que empezó a declinar su estado de salud lo cual le requirió regresar a los EEUU. Él es sobrevivido por su esposa de 52 años Ramona (Peguero-Knecht), hijas Isa A. Pérez-Lucafo (y esposo José Lucafo) de Raymond, NH, Yolanda Irene Gorra de West Palm Beach, FL, hijo David E. Peguero (y esposa Karen Casey-Peguero) de Delray Beach, Florida, y nieta Natacha I. Soberon (y esposo Elvoris Mercedes) de Lawrence, MA.  También es sobrevivido por su hermano Oscar T. Pérez (y su esposa Manuela) de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana y varios medios hermanos, sobrinos, nietos y bisnietos. Extrañaremos su sonrisa, sentido del humor, sus cuentos y su naturaleza humilde. Disfrutaba del béisbol, las películas de baqueradas clásicas y pasar tiempo con familiares y amigos. Isidro disfrutaba especialmente de la comida, la música y la danza dominicana.
