James N. Kasouf beloved husband on Rosemarie (Youngmein) Kasouf passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem. Jim was born in Lawrence the son of the late Zedan and Freda (Fikary) Kasouf. He was educated in the Lawrence School system and graduated from Lawrence High School. Jim served during the Korean Conflict with US Navy aboard the USS F. T. Beery. Jim was a parishioner of St. Joseph Melkite Church in Lawrence and was dedicated to St. Basil Seminary in Methuen where he volunteered and took part in many spiritual retreats over the years. Friends recall Jim's quiet decades of charity to hundreds of families in the Merrimack Valley and to those in Florida during the winter months.
Jim founded Imperial Shade and Blind Company which located at Lawrence and Park Sts. in Lawrence. Jim was a member of Knights of Columbus, VFW and the American Legion. Jim enjoyed his many trips Foxwoods and played the Mass Lottery scratch tickets.
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years Rosemarie of Salem, NH. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by sisters: Olga Kasouf, Margaret Kasouf, Rita Anderson, Rose Lambert and Grace Dooley and brothers: Joseph Kasouf and George Kasouf.
A funeral service will be offered, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 241 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. Friends may call Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at St Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen, MA 01841.
