Jorge Luis Frias

Our beloved Jorge Luis Frias passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 31st, 2020. He lived his life searching for God, and now he is in His loving presence. He took with him a piece of our hearts and left us with a void that only God will be able to heal.

Born in 1988 in Los Minas, Santo Domingo Dominican Republic, Jorge Luis was the first child of Jose Luis Frias and Rosario (Garcia) Frias and the older brother to Jose Eduardo and Karla Frias. He was the first grandchild of Simeon (Papa) and Olibia (Mama) Frias, and the first nephew of Carmen Frias-Interrante and Noris Frias-Duran.

Like a little child, he was full of life and enjoyed every single moment to the fullest. As a young boy, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball with his brother and childhood friends. He used to hit powerful homeruns just to avoid having to run the bases too fast.

After moving to Massachusetts he attended Lawrence High School, where he built new everlasting friendships and later graduated in 2008.

He was passionate about sports, specially basketball. He also enjoyed watching boxing matches with his friends just like his grandfather did. When he wasn’t fishing at his favorite spot, he would be cooking a brand-new dish or caring for his beloved plants.  

Jorge Luis would do whatever he could to cheer you up and to make you laugh. Right after meeting him, he would make you feel like you’ve been friends forever.

He gave himself completely and his love for his family and friends was unconditional. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, partner, stepdad and friend. His multiple phone calls and his contagious smile will be terribly missed.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Simeon Frias, his grandma Mama Tina, his uncles Julio Garcia and Christian De La Cruz and his aunt Altagracia De La Cruz.

Jorge Luis will also be missed by his uncles Gaspar (Bud) Interrante, Rafael A. Duran, Juan Tomas De La Cruz, Pedro Rafael De La Cruz, Bernardo Chireno, Cristian De La Cruz his aunts Carmen Garcia, Lucitania Garcia and Estela Reyes de Garcia, brothers in-law Denny, Jefferson and Diego, his sister in-law Joanna Frias, his nephews and nieces Eli, Alex, David and Jasmin who loved and adored their uncle Jorge, his cousins, his partner Natalie Murillo and her children whom he loved as his own Stephany and Jean Paul, along with his family members and friends.

The immense love that surrounded him in life, will continue to follow him through his new journey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday August 6th, 2020, from 9AM -12 PM at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA, followed by the burial at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

We ask that Covid precautions remain in effect throughout all services. If you cannot be with us, we ask that you keep our family in your prayers.

Nuestro amado Jorge Luis Frías, falleció inesperadamente el Viernes 31 de Julio, 2020. Vivió su vida buscando a Dios, y ahora está en Su amorosa presencia. Jorge se llevó con él un pedazo de nuestros corazones y nos dejó con un vacío que solo Dios podrá sanar.

Nacido en el año 1988 en el Ensanche de Los Minas, Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, Jorge Luis fue el primer hijo de José Luis Frías y Rosario García de Frías y el hermano mayor de José Eduardo y Karla Frías. Fue el primer nieto de Simeón (Papa) y Olibia (Mamá) Frías, y el primer sobrino de Carmen Frias-Interrante y Noris Frias-Duran.

Jorge estaba lleno de vida y disfruto cada momento al máximo. Cuando niño, jugando en las calles de su querido barrio, disfrutaba jugando baloncesto y béisbol con su hermano y amigos de la infancia. Solía​​anotar jonrones poderosos, y decía que era solo para no tener que correr las bases muy rápido.

Después de mudarse a Massachusetts, asistió a la escuela Superior de Lawrence, donde construyó nuevas y valiosas amistades, y en donde luego se graduó en el año 2008.

Le apasionaban los deportes, especialmente el baloncesto y disfrutaba viendo los partidos de boxeo con sus amigos, así como antes lo hacía su abuelo. Cuando no estaba pescando en su lugar favorito, le encantaba cocinar su comida preferida domplines con bacalao o tratar alguna receta nueva, asi como dedicarle tiempo a cuidar sus queridas plantas.

Cuando Jorge te conocía, inmediatamente te hacía sentir como si fueran amigos de toda la vida. Siempre inventando alguna forma de animarte y hacerte reír.

La memoria de su amor incondicional y su completa entrega es el legado que le deja a su familia y a todo aquel que lo amo. Jorge fue un increíble hijo, hermano, nieto, sobrino, tío, primo, compañero, padrastro y amigo. Y extrañaremos terriblemente su voz, sus múltiples llamadas telefónicas y su enorme y contagiosa sonrisa.

Jorge fue precedido por su abuelo Simeón Frías, su abuela Mama Tina, sus tíos Julio García y Christian De La Cruz y su tía Altagracia De La Cruz.

También será extrañado intensamente por sus tíos Gaspar (Bud) Interrante, Rafael A. Durán, Juan Tomás de la Cruz, Pedro Rafael de la Cruz, Bernardo Chireno, sus tías Carmen García, Lucitania García y Estela Reyes de García, Rafaelina Carela, sus cuñados Denny, Jefferson y Diego, su cuñada Joanna Frías, sus sobrinos y sobrinas Eli, Alex, David and Jasmin que amaban y adoraban a su tío Jorge, su pareja Natalie Murillo y sus hijos a quienes el amaba como propios Stephany y Jean Paul, junto con sus familiares y amigos.

El inmenso amor que rodeó su vida, continuará siguiéndolo en su nueva jornada.

Amigos y familiares están invitados a las horas de visitación el Jueves 6 de Agosto, 2020, de 9:00AM – 12:00PM en la funeraria Farrah Funeral Home ubicada en la 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA. Inmediatamente seguido por el sepelio en el Cementerio St. Mary-Immaculate Conception en Lawrence MA.

Nuestra familia agradece profundamente las demostraciones de cariño, solidaridad y aprecio hemos recibido en estos momentos de dolor y les pide mantenernos en sus oraciones.
