JUAN LOZADA CALDERON

DECEMBER 25, 1965 - January 16, 2020

OBITUARY

Juan Lozada Calderon, 54, resident of Lawrence Massachusetts, original from Rio Grande Puerto Rico , passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2020 at St Elizabeth Medical Center .

Juan was born in Brooklyn, New York and a few years later his mother relocated to Puerto Rico and was educated by the Rio Grande Public Schools. He attended Pedro Falu Orellano High School in Rio Grande.

His family remembers Juan as a jolly, caring and loving father, straight forward gentlemen… a Good friend. Funny and fun guy with a great potential. As a child he played sports. He played baseball, catcher and pitcher positions but he found his passion in basketball. He decided to play in the Pedro Falu High School Varsity where he attended. Played for the Juvenile Basketball League, Ist Category, Puertorrican League achieving a championship the same year.

He received a scholarship from Arizona Western College in Yuma Arizona where he played for 2 years and was part of the Matadors team.

He played in the National Basketball League in Puerto Rico from 1985 to 1995 being part of the Capitanes de Arecibo, Leones de Ponce, Atleticos de San German, Piratas de Quebradillas y Mets de Guaynabo.

He arrived in Lawrence Massachusetts on September 16, 1989 with his family, his wife Debbie and children Stephanie and Juan Jose and made this town their new home. On December 2002 his wish of having another child came thru. Juan Alberto arrived to lighten his life.

Adored by his children, Stephanie, Juan Jose and Juan Alberto, beloved son of Luz Calderon (Decd) of Rio Grande and Eladio Lozada (Decd) of Las Piedras. Brothers and sisters Ana, Hector, Ramon and Joanne. Nephews and nieces Raul, Annette, Sharon, Shaneska and Abimael., Dennisse, Krystal and Rebecca. Grandchildren Arielyne, Jozziah, Sharlette, Aaliyah, Juan Gabriel and soon to be born Kristen Diore. Was a father to many of his children’s friends when they lacked of a father figure.

UPDATE ON JUAN’S SERVICES

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 4-8 at Farrah’s Funeral Home 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence Massachusetts. Religious service will be held at 7:00 pm

Juan will be transported to his native Rio Grande Puerto Rico on Monday January 27, 2020. Funeral and burial services will be taken place in his forever home at Frankie Memorial and finally lay to rest beside his beloved Mother.

Our family can not begin to express how much the outpouring of love and support we have received means to us. Thank you for so much love towards him. Your help in sharing this information via all forms of social media with those wishing to pay their respects is appreciated.
