Leonora Santos

Leonora Santos, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lawrence, with her family at her bedside.

Leonora born in Altamira, Dominican Republic on September 2, 1917, the daughter of the late Claudio Santos and his wife Julia Genao. A homemaker, she was the widow of the late Fidel Cruz.
She is survived by her sisters Andrea and Senona Santos. 
Her children,  Blanco Cruz, Carlixta Cruz, Freddy Cruz,  Alfrida Ramos, Hipolitio Cruz, Lina Cruz, Lorenzo Cruz, Ramon Cruz-Santos and Virgilia Calixto. 
She blessed her 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Leonora was the matriarch of  her family and very much enjoyed spending time with her children and many grandchildren. 
She was a woman of faith who loved flowers, a good cup of coffee and a great cigar ever so often. 
Her children will remember her as a strong woman and even stronger mother who raised them to be loving and respectful of others. As well as the funniest of people that always reminded you, that she was not old, every one else was and that she didn’t feel her age. 
Leonora lived a full life. A life filled of loved and will be terribly missed by all that knew her. 

A funeral mass will be offered Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery also in Lawrence.
