Lody Y Slaybe

Lody Y. (Chantiri) Slaybe, 85, of Manchester, NH, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Ridgewood Nursing Home, in Bedford, NH with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Slaybe was born and educated in Beirut, Lebanon, the daughter of the late Habib Chantiri and his wife Najla Lebbos. A homemaker she was a devoted mother to her 6 children and loving wife to her late husband, Youssef I. Slaybe who passed away in May, 2006. While living in Lebanon, she was a parishioner of St. George's Maronite Church in Amaret Chalhoub, Lebanon. Mrs. Slaybe and her husband moved to the United States in 1987 and settled in Manchester, NH. She was a noted Lebanese cook who loved to prepare meals for her family. Mrs. Slaybe enjoyed vacationing with her family during her trips to Lebanon.

The widow of Youssef I. Slaybe, she is survived by her children: George J. Slaybe and his wife, Bassema (Awad) Slaybe of Tampa, FL and their children: Joseph D. Slaybe and his wife, Dana (Cross) Slaybe of Orlando, FL; Joelle Marie Slaybe of Tampa and Judy Anne Slaybe of Tampa, FL. Daughter, Georgette wife of Elias Haddad of Lebanon and their children: Rebecca wife of Bachara Haddad of Lebanon; Alexander and his wife Debbie of London, England; Mrs. Andrea Safi of Beirut, Lebanon; Melissa wife Naim Bou Diwan of Toronto, CA. Daughter: Katia wife of Fadi Ghosn of Paris, France and their daughters: Michele and her husband Sebastian Krawczwk and Cynthia and her husband Reda Ktoub, all of Paris, France. Son, Ibrahim and his wife Raymonda (Nasr) Slaybe and their children: Angela Rita Slaybe  and Mario Charbel Slaybe both of Londonderry, NH. Son Pierre and his wife Christelle (Saad) Slaybe and their  children: Anthony George Slaybe; Melanie Grace Slaybe and Stephanie Marie Slaybe all of Manchester, NH. Son, Habib Y. Slaybe of Manchester, NH. Siblings: Nouhad Ghanem, Georgette Farrah, Siham Khoury, Rossette Hayek and Antoine Chantiri all of Lebanon. In addition, she is survived by great grand children Louis Haddad, Kelley Haddad, Olivia Safi, Phoebee Haddad, Elias Haddad, Sofie Bou Diwan, Anthony Bou Diwan and Hanna Krawczwk. She was predeceased by her infant son, Nabil.

A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St; Lawrence, MA 01841. Friends may call Saturday, June 22, 2019 from noon to 12:45 pm at the Church where she will lie in state. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen.
