Luz Esther Fernandez, went home to Jesus on February 28, 2021 at the age of 82.
Luz Esther was born to Ramon and Marina Fernandez on December 31, 1938 in Bonao, Dominican Republic. She had 11 brothers and sisters of which 3 are living.
As a young woman she enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family, something that she would enjoy her entire life.
She emigrated to the United States in the early 60's along with her first husband Jose Estevez and her two children Martha Irene Estevez
and Jose (Rudy) Manuel Estevez, were she worked as a seamstress.
She re-married in April of 1983 her soulmate Juan Estrada Rijos and lived in the Island of Puerto Rico, a place she would spent 47 years of the beautiful life.
In 1985 they received a blessing in the name of Gaddiel Rene (grandson) who they raised as their own.
They were active members of the 7th Day Adventist church and loved serving the community. Her smile and loving personality was contagious and something
that will never be forgotten. Her devotion to her family was evident as being her greatest satisfaction and she will be truly missed by all. She leaves behind
her two children, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great- great grandchild and numerous other family members.
The legacy of love she instilled will live on in our hearts. Let's honor her life by celebrating the true meaning of "FAMILY".
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects, on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
Luz will lay at rest beside her husband, Juan Estrada Rijos at Cementerio Nacional de Puerto Rico in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
