Ofelia Lara de Domenech, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021. She was born on June 14, 1930 in Bani, Dominican Republic and resided in the Merrimack Valley most of her adult life.
Ofelia is survived by three (3) sons, Miguelo Bobadilla, Rafael Bobadilla, and Sixto Bobadilla, and two (2) daughters, Ofelia (Mercedita) Bobadilla, and Dominica (Chabela) Bobadilla. She also leaves behind four generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with friends and family members who will sadly miss her.
From a young age, Ofelia had an entrepreneurial spirit and became a successful seamstress in her hometown of Bani. She continued pursuing her passion for sewing when she migrated to the United States. Traveling, playing bingo, and spending time with her family were some of her favorite past times. Her spit-fire personality turned heads; she was incredibly adventurous, and certainly did not fit the mold for her generation. She was fun, honest, and had a genuine soul. Family members often express pride of her resilience, strength, boldness, and zest for life.
Ofelia leaves a beautiful legacy which shall be carried on by her tribe of daring, loving and artistic family members. We love you Guela Ofelia; we love you mama. We will carry beautiful memories forever in our hearts.
