Rafaela Santos

Lawrence, MA – Rafaela Santos, 76, passed away on the morning of January 8, 2022.  She died at Lawrence General Hospital.

She was born on October 24, 1945 in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States in 1981 to provide a better life for her family.  An active member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Rafaela will be remembered as a devout Catholic and member of the parish group Cofradía del Sagrado Corazón.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Luis Santos, their six living children, Beato Santos, Primitivo Santos, Francisca Polanco, Alejandro Santos, Ysidro Santos, and Sonia Santos, and many grandchildren. Rafaela is preceded in death by her daughter Angela Ovalles. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her for her warmth, loving nature, and generous spirit.  

The wake will be held on Wednesday, January 12 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.  The funeral procession will be on Thursday, January 13 at Bellevue Cemetery after a mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish at 10:00am. Please wear a face mask.

Lawrence, MA – Rafaela Santos, 76, falleció en la mañana del 8 de enero de 2022. Murió en Lawrence General Hospital.

Ella nació el 24 de octubre de 1945 en la República Dominicana y vino a los Estados Unidos en 1981 para darles una vida mejor a sus hijos.  Será recordada como una católica devota y miembro de la Cofradía del Sagrado Corazón en la Parroquia Santa María de la Asunción. 

Rafaela es sobrevivida por su esposo de 59 años, Luis Santos, sus seis hijos, Beato Santos, Primitivo Santos, Francisca Polanco, Alejandro Santos, Ysidro Santos, y Sonia Santos y sus muchos nietos. Se reunirá con su hija fallecida Angela Ovalles. Todos van a extrañar a Rafaela por su naturaleza amorosa y espíritu generoso.

La vela será el miércoles, 12 de enero, a las 4:00pm hasta las 8:00 pm en: Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.  La procesión funeraria será el jueves, 13 de enero, en el cementerio de la Bellevue después de una misa en la Parroquia Santa María de la Asunción a las 10:00am.  Por favor use una mascarilla.
