Rose Sue Hashem, 61, of Methuen passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Rose was born ands educated in Akoura, Lebanon the daughter of George Hashem and his wife, Nemra (Hashem) Hashem. Rose was one of eight children who emigrated to Lawrence on January 18, 1970 to escape the coming civil war in Lebanon. Rose was awarded a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1982. She was employed for more than 30 years with Proctor and Gamble as a Director of Customer Relations. Rose was an avid tennis player, enjoyed reading, and self taught in Arabic reading and writing. She traveled extensively.
Rose touched the lives of a lot of people. She was supportive of friends and colleagues and was very giving of her time, helping in any way that she could. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Robert Anthony Cloutier of Methuen and Catherine Georginna Cloutier of Los Angeles. Siblings: Joseph P. Hashem and his wife Nina of Randleman, NC; Sabah Daher of Methuen; Najwah H. Miceli, wife of Steven Miceli of Methuen; Najat H. Arsenault ,wife of Stephen Arsenault of Salisbury; Abdo G. Hashem and his wife, Samaria (Taveras) Hashem of Methuen; Fadwah M. Chiklis, wife Gregory Chiklis of Franklin, MA. In addition, Rose is survived by her sister-in-law Rita Hashem along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, George Hashem and Nemra Hashem and brother, Peter Paul Hashem of Tewksbury.
A funeral liturgy will be offered on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
Friends may call Thursday, April 8, 2021 form 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
